US Envoy Sergio Gor Signals Trade Progress, Goyal’s US Visit at Month-End

Gor made the remarks while addressing the 66th Annual Session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA).

Speaking at the event, Sergio Gor said, “Our two governments are working closely together to build a trade relationship that is fair, reciprocal and mutually beneficial. And I don't know if this is public yet, but Minister Goyal will be traveling at the end of the month to the United States to continue engaging as we host the G20 talks. We have made real progress, including the trade understanding that our governments have reached.”

He said the progress between the two countries extends beyond trade in goods, with India and the United States partnering across a wide range of areas.

“Our progress extends well beyond trade in goods. Our two nations are partnering on virtually everything under the roof. Just this year our countries signed the Pact Silica declaration, a step towards a pro-innovation regulatory framework. This declaration will make it easier for American and Indian companies to invest across borders and will empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and builders in both of our countries,” Gor added.

The remarks come as the two governments continue their engagement on trade, with Gor pointing to the trade understanding already reached and Minister Goyal’s planned visit to the United States at the end of the month as part of continued discussions.
